988 Project Founder is Featured in Las Vegas Review Journal Article: “New Year, New Hope in Preventing Teen Suicide”
January 22, 2024
Dr. Sheldon Jacobs, Psy.D, LMFT, a licensed mental health professional based in Las Vegas wrote a inspiring article recently on teen mental health and suicide prevention. Our Founder, Cooper, who is also Co-Chair of the Teen Committee of Hope Means Nevada, was pictured and quoted. Cooper noted that we need to deconstruct the stigma around mental health by “talking to people about mental health, recognizing that I am not so different from others, and tearing down those boundaries.” Another important message within the article was relayed by Grace Netski who stated that “We all know what to do if we were to have a heart attack – and we want teens to know how to manage a mental health crisis.” Thank you to Dr. Jacobs for writing such an important and insightful article!
