The 988 Awareness Project Supports the AFSP Out of the Darkness Community Walk

This past weekend, the 988 Awareness Project was proud to send a team to support the “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk organized by the Las Vegas chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (“AFSP”) at Sunset Park. We raised over $1,000! The “Out of the Darkness” Community Walk was a well-organized and inspiring event attended by the Nevada Lieutenant Governor, the Las Vegas Golden Knights’ cheerleaders and so many others, with a total of 1,332 participants and 161 teams.  We were able to wear and hand out some of our newly designed 988 T-shirts and talk to others about both the 988 number and the “Share the Number. Spread the Word” slogan on our shirts. The AFSP Community Walk was a powerful day and, also, a great opportunity to spread the word about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
